Creativity

LinkedIn states that Creativity will be one of the most in-demand soft skills in 2020. So how are you doing in that area? Are you stumped with how to be creative in your workplace? Are you at a loss for how creativity looks on your career path?

Let’s explore how the workplace can be your creative playground.

Can you produce your work in a different presentation format, or with a different operating model and new digital platform than what your currently using? How diversified is your team? Multiple skill sets can jumpstart your creativity because you’ll find yourself having to think more critically about how you complete a task to add a higher level user experience and impact others for a longer lasting positive work experience.

Per an Adobe study, they mentioned we work more than five hours a day just checking email! How creative is that task? 🥱 You may discover there are different, more enjoyable and creative ways to achieve the successful work outcomes you desire. 🥳 use some of those hours to try out a creative idea (or two) and discuss it with a colleague or confidant to get their feedback on what improvements they may see from your new creative approach.  New perspectives will help you appreciate the greater value you receive strengthening your critical thinking skills - Another one of the most needed soft skills for 2020.

Your creativity should start in your personal time, taking a daily moment to practice Stillness. I’ve coached to a detailed degree about how important Stillness is to reveal what’s swimming around in your mind and spirit. Remove the negative, restless thoughts and images so you can remove what may be blocking your secret weapon - your creativity. Trigger this much needed soft skill with Stillness time so your imagination can increase and flourish.

How passionate and ambitious are you in your career? Are your core values aligned with your career ambition? I use a core values worksheet with my clients and group session attendees to help guide them toward goal activations that are rightly aligned with their passion. Passion in your career should ignite the desire to see creative outcomes that transform lives - - especially yours! Tackle the difficult topics and feedback discussions to breakthrough tension barriers that’s oppressing creativity in your workplace.

Creativity should stir fun, a smile, a laugh, even a chuckle. Do you see this behavior consistently in your workplace? Creative risk takers at work laugh at themselves when they’re pushing up against the limits of what they can or can’t do. They ultimately promote a creative culture of high development. This creative growth atmosphere is ideal for our next gen of Millennials and Gen Zers. It’s really momentous for all of us!

Okay; now it’s time for you to measure the production of joyful creativity that you create in your workplace. Today focus on finding your creative voice through playful exploration at work.

You have to get to work and become CREATIVE. Wrestle with this directive. Embrace it, laugh at it, and roll up your sleeves for it. Living Life sparking creativity Today!
