How To Break Free From The Pressures of Presumption
Let’s not presume. Presumption can keep you from seeing the truth in a time you need it most to transform.
When you don’t stop and check what you’re building your life, hopes and dreams on, the principles you’re standing on could be broken or built with hay or straw. It’s not far-fetched that character flaws get covered and stored away to be dealt with another season. But this needful process comes back around when a circumstance or revelation shakes you. There’s a medium to not judging yourself too harshly versus giving yourself too much leeway to fall into a ditch deeper than you first imagined.
It’s the imagination that must remain pure. This will help you better discern when an attitude is developing that’s removing you from the true purpose of your calling. Don’t presume. Know what path you’re on and why. Know how you got there. Know where you’re going.
Have faith in God alone. He will keep your feet moving on the right path. The next step of truth may not be easy, but He alone will give you the strength to preserve and accomplish the true destiny you were created for.
It’s time to remove any delusion as you move into the next six months of your life. Commit to not letting yourself take for granted missteps or character impulses that need to be dealt with during this quieter time. Transformation takes place when you become ready for the new thing. The next transformative action. Layers of wrong mindsets that have been covered in presumption begin to fall away and you now accept the truth of where you are. A slight adjustment in how you perceive the more peaceable way of life and work can give you the foresight to build a wiser internal and external foundation.
Dig in and honestly answer whether your bold presumptions are hurting others. What new attitude is required to walk in the path of true prosperity? Not just material gain. Godly gain. Remind yourself the two are not the same. Our personal and professional desires are not always good things. Have you spent valuable time on presumptive pleasures rather than powerful pursuits that rightly align with goodness, compassion and mercy for the whole [team, community, society, family, blended self]?
What’s the next step?
Celebrate the discovery of delusion and be renewed in your mind. I am learning the sweet spot of having my presumptions exposed. I humbly receive the compassionate chiseling that helps to mold me into the person I was created to be.
Celebrate attitude illumination. The next stepping stone of your journey will be steadier and stronger.
