Leaking

I dreamt there was a leak in a big water tank. The tank was somehow built into the wall and ceiling; into the structure of the room. When the water was being released into the tank, I started looking carefully and keenly for cracks and any water leaks. I began to see fine lines in the wall and ceiling where water was leaking. It wasn’t immediately obvious but water began to surface and I saw tiny fractures in the wall become wet. Water began to drip or lightly stream in noticeable places. A maintenance person came into the room where I was standing and observing the leaks. He said, “Hey, I came in to see the leaks because if you saw it, found it, I knew it was really a problem.” I looked intently at him with my arms folded. Then I walked out of the room and began to see familiar faces in other rooms. I started to search for particular persons, feeling compelled to alert them.

Sticky Note Community, it’s the season to check your life for leaks. Look at your projects, finances, friendships, covenant relationships and company alignment with colleagues or partners. Look within during your stillness time and grab thoughts that are stirring up anxiety or causing your goals to become foggy. 

Leaks are not always tended to in a timely manner. Leaks in your life plan can swell and complicate the destiny intended for you. Let’s tackle some of your possible leaks....

Okay, there’s A LOT going on with you right now and we need to tackle it and fix (really fix) the leak. Now each of you are having your own personal or professional leak, so grab the thought in whatever area you see a leak because we’re going to toss out the bad today and ignite transformation!

Leaks in your life can be emotional, financial, professional, psych-personal, spiritual. What area are you dealing with? Where is the present leak you’re seeing? Because yes, you’re seeing the leak right now. How many of you are quietly dealing with sensitivity to noise? What about anxiety and dread? No my friend, you can’t sleep it away; drink it away; or even meditate and still it away. In fact, I know some of you have been running away from your stillness time and that’s NOT GOOD. So let’s transform and deal with it today!

What’s behind the wall? 

How bad is the leak?

How long have you had the leak?

How much will it cost? Financially, personally, professionally, spiritually....Ouch!

Can you afford to fix it? Can you afford not to fix it?
Whether it’s a trickle. A deluge.

Today, you are transforming and fixing your leak.

First, understand that DISCIPLINE is the only currency that will work for this leak. Discipline will strip pride and delusion that you’ve been keeping covenant with. Today I declare you will break all ties with limiting beliefs. Today I decree you will receive the strength you need to begin the contrite conversion that will dissipate rebellion.

Second, learn what your feelings of overwhelm, with waves of anxiety and dread, are telling you. Change what you’ve been doing. It’s not working! Whether it’s professional, spiritual, or financial advice - get it. Whether online, by phone or in person; pray for direction for righteous, sound advice and coaching. When I need advice or coaching, I run to my wise circle of coaches and mentors. I admit there are learning principles that I missed, and remind myself it’s NEVER too late to learn. Learning is a continual process. 

Listen, I’ve had past dilemmas where I thought it was horribly bad, and it wasn’t. It wasn’t the best; but it wasn’t horrible. Rather it was the fear of not being in control that was horrible. Fear of not knowing how things would work out. And then it did work out. And I realized I was going through a stretching of trust and faith. The dilemma felt like I was going to + through therapy after knee surgery or had an exercise coach mercilessly taking me through an abs boot camp.

I wondered if I was having a hormonal moment; a psychological moment; another spiritual awakening; then I was just exhausted from all the wondering and wandering.

Third and finally, get mad at unbelief. Cynicism erodes your trust.  Skepticism unravels your faith. Ah ha. The unbelief is exposed and there you have it. The lack of trust that the leak won’t get fixed is messing with your destiny. 

Remember my dream? The maintenance person came in to see about my leak. He said if I said I had one, and found it, then he believed I had one. I believe that was the Master Fixer stepping into my situation to help me transform it. 

Here’s the thing. Today you acknowledged the leak. So here are my coaching questions for you today. Why did you stop believing in yourself? Why aren’t you remembering all the wisdom you gained from previous dilemmas trusting you’ll overcome this one. Why are you still trying to control the ending? Replace fear and anxiety with faith and trust. Use the skills you have and combine new ones. Learn the new skills you need to overcome this present situation. You’ve just been coached! Arise my friend and transform your mind.
