Twas The Night
I realize it can be difficult for some of you when night falls. The silence can be deafening. You are left with your thoughts, and that can be dangerous when left undisciplined. So what do you do when there’s no sound from an electronic device?
It’s time to deal with restless thoughts that arise. You must let them come to their moment and make their case. Then test their argument to see whether it’s from God. First, make sure you know your spirit will have the last word. I can say this because I yield mine to God’s Spirit which I believe can settle any matter that’s trying to worry or upset my soul. There are so many choppy thoughts that can crest when no stable reason is found. You find yourself on a raft far, far away trying to weigh a decision or find an alternative when the day is already done and the next one will be sufficient in its own time. Instead, yield and give into the peaceful quiet of the night. Seek solace knowing you have done your best today. You have shared your best and laughed your best laugh at what you’ve been offered or dealt. Release the pressure to seek how to straighten a crooked line. Remove the weight of how to handle an untenable situation that you’re not responsible for. Instead turn to love the hush you’ve been gifted when stillness is blanketed under its angelic dome. Tucked in gently and fast asleep.
Declare you will no longer fear the night. Instead you will see darkness taking a break before it’s exposed once again. It must lie down and wait for another chance to say nothing so loudly. Now feel the peace and comfort of the caviar shade of shush. Stretch out and think good thoughts, dream longer dreams of those desires you need more time to unwrap. What a lovely time to hear God’s response to prayers prayed long ago. To know He hasn’t forgotten them. Sometimes the simple or complex answers are given in complete solitude. Now explanations have time to be given slowly.. leaving precious moments for revelation and nuances to settle.
Submerge into your pillow and let the silence subdue your mood from anxiety to tranquility. Order any mental disturbance out of your room; command it out of your dwelling place and lock the spirit of heaviness outside. Inside embrace the pleasurable presence that’s yearning to capture your heart. Godly peace will be your nighttime story.
Night, you are welcome. Your rich silence will soothe what my heart needs. Night, fall in line. Do your job of transforming conflicting thoughts into cooperative and kinder considerations.
