If you know my work habits, first thing you’ll see are my sticky notes invading the surface space space of wherever I’ve landed.

QUESTION: If you could tackle one writing method or process to make it easier to remember important tasks or share information more quickly, what would it be?

Note taking is a powerful learning tool. Use it to journal during your stillness time and document ideas that you can refer to throughout the month or year. Create affirmations that will encourage you to move forward in faith + hope!

Watching others write is a passive way to learn, but changing it up by writing more can help you remember a new concept you need for improved workflow. Write to remember!

Even though we have been traditionally taught to sit down + listen to video presentations or Zoom collaborations, try taking notes to remember.

Taking notes require you to concentrate because:

#1. Writing activates your brain.

#2. It requires you to process what you’re hearing.

#3. You have to think about what you’re translating into a written form.

Don’t forget to write a subject heading for your topic, speaker and date so you can find it more easily.

Be alert for whatever tips, referenced websites and helpful experts are emphasized.

Write down examples to new concepts that make it more real and relevant to what you’re doing and working on.

Write down keywords or visual images that connect or further explain the main points of the video or call.

Review your notes. Sometimes I forget to do this, and when I go back it can look a little disconnected because of the ‘shorthand’ I suddenly decided to use. 🙄

Decide how you’re going to categorize your topics for future reference. Use an app like Notability or Asana.
