Your Checklist for the Blended Self
I’m really focused on making a transparent list, and going to check it twice heading into 2021 Rising.
Always thinking about my Sticky Note tribe, I thought it might be helpful to sketch out a Blended Self checklist to help guide your next steps. Also, try your hand with these destiny decrees created especially for you.
1. It’s refreshing to have a couple of tips up your sleeve on cultivating white noise for creative headspace. White noise is produced by combining sounds of different frequencies together. Used in moderation, there are even apps that help you boost productivity, especially during this time of working remotely. I use it to push through contract writing or blog posts on a tight deadline. Are you stuck getting out the next time-sensitive task or creative project? Try Mozart music or an app like Brain FM. Get going with healthier ways to eliminate distractions.
2. You were designed for more. We don’t all unwind by reading the dictionary in our free time! Your next bright idea needs more freedom, more time to express thoughts without compromising your professional writing skills. Consider Grammarly. Sometimes, you just don’t have time for a second set of eyes, but if you take your writing seriously, explore the benefits of this grammar checker. Now you can focus on sharing the next brilliant concept + maintain a professional writing presence.
3. The weight of waiting - - we’ve been doing a lot of it, but here’s a way you can do it better. Dedicating time to stillness is still my life-line for peace. Those of us who have jobs in the midst of the pandemic are extremely grateful. You find yourself appreciative while working harder. The exhaustion is coming from remote burnout, accelerated learning activities from new methods + tools, new brain patterns being established, + a host of other internal or external coping factors. Resilience will be the key to rebuilding your workplace, community, and yourself. Many studies have shown that silent time, “think time” or “emptying your thoughts” can improve your ability to generate ideas + kickstart the purity of your imagination. It also reduces stress by removing anxious thoughts that try to overtake your heart + mind. Try this: Put your phone on silent mode for 10-20 minutes each morning for a week. Notice the space you create for a more peaceful day.
4. A great suggestion I’ve discovered to minimize fear and prepare for change ahead is to use my affirmation cards. Keep them on your side table or next to your computer. Interchange them between personal, business + spiritual throughout the week. Now, instead of hoping your day would move along more quickly, use the decrees to ensure you capture the daily moments with confidence.
5. Can you do this hands-free? Rise to the occasion + tell your futurospective story. It does a mind good to visualize an engaging, creatively productive workspace that includes loyal clients, tribal fans who honor your talents. I challenge you to find a space this week to unwind hands-free; take 20 minutes to envision what a healthy routine looks like for your business + career. Use this moment of solitude to remove any contradictions that are causing bottlenecks in your destiny. No writing or scrolling allowed. Renew your mindset + see your professional workspace process go from rigid to diverse; nearby to remote. What do you have to finish, before you can start to do what you’re now envisioning? What do you have to start doing, before you can begin this next visual chapter? How will you turn your professional fantasy into career fulfillment?
