Recently on two separate occasions I spotted an egret on a busy street corner, far from what I thought was its natural habitat. At first, I shrugged it off as a strange occurrence but seeing it a second time I understood there was more meaning for me to press into and stretch my mind around.

I decided to look up what an egret symbolizes, and here’s what I discovered..

“The great egret emanates a message of great compatibility and heaven sense. The message is that a prosperous time is near or has arrived.” Egyptian history describes the egret as a symbol of prosperity. Chinese tradition symbolize them as strength, purity, patience and long life. 

I’m a Christian so l asked Jesus what these repeated occurrences meant for me, if anything. I believe He confirmed that abundance is at our doorstep. Abundance in the form of a personal freedom or release we’ve been needing to take a step forward and do something we’ve been hesitating on. A desire, dream, or goal we’ve tucked away quietly in a drawer. Some of you have been stuck because you’ve been letting past failures or hard experiences keep you from taking another chance or even another risk. 

Even in the midst of a very busy upcoming year + era (which it will be!), and even when it seems that unusual occurrences and distractions are around you; know that God is leading you on a path of prosperity in your personal and professional life. Your faith will keep you when chaos abounds. Lean in when you want to run away from the rumbling. The shattering sound will be you breaking through to new heights in your career and in your personal life. Out of the ashes will arise new skills, new understandings about changes that have happened in past workplace occurrences. In what might have seemed like dead seasons; you were given those quiet seasons to sharpen and re-skill your unique abilities. Now it’s showtime and, for some of you, it may seem like you’re going from black + white to technicolor. Yes, it’s your time to shine. Don’t miss it.

Writing this and relaxing at home, I feel a sense of joy when I remember seeing the egret on those busy street corners. I believe a “not natural”, not-the-norm confidence is at our door. This strength will help you gain your footing and make you equally ready to use your unique talents to create prosperity for others. I believe in this new season you will witness the unique creativity and strong leadership qualities you possess and share it with your family and at your workplace. Prayerfully reading this post you will finally see- and more importantly believe- what you have to share with others and especially yourself. 

These little egrets spoke to my spirit and I’m overwhelmed with joy, freer to soar + share keys for breakthrough in many areas of your personal + professional lives. As our lives intersect in 2020, we will share professional, financial and spiritual prosperity and see goals from a higher, fuller perspective. It really won’t be because of me; rather it will be due to your strength in bringing meaning to your purpose in life + work.
